Michelle's 50/50 Challenge

65 Movies, 40 Books

Well I made a good attempt at the 50/50 Challenge and feel I have succeeded, regardless of not getting to 50 books.  40 is still quite an accomplishment.  I told one friend and she was so shocked and felt that was something she could never accomplish in one year.

So kudos to me and a pat on the back!  I’ll attempt to keep up with the books and incorporate them more into my life, which really shouldn’t be hard since I love to read.  Movies are easy peasy!

Happy New Years and hoping 2013 will be a hell of a better and healthy year for all….2012 was a rough one!  Cheers!

The year is coming to a close fast!

51 movies and 34 books!  Movies are done and growing, but 50 books still seems  far off.  I’m hoping to get to 40 books.  That will still be quite an accomplishment.

I’m currently laid up, literally  from foot surgery this past Monday.  I’ve read two+ books this week, which helps with my current total.   But I’ve discovered a great series on Netflix, Breaking Bad.  I’m addicted to it and instead of reading or cleaning my much avoided desk for months, I’m watching the series.  Good thing I only have 5 more episodes until I’m caught up, maybe then I can read more and clean that desk!!

If I went and found those “partially” read books and finished them, my numbers would probably grow.  Sigh, oh well….this challenge has been great and glad I have kept to it, regardless of where I end up.

Half way

So I’m falling behind on the books, it’s summer after all.  I’ve been out riding my bike most weekends and even some week days.  Complete my first metric century in June.  That’s 62 miles…yes on a bike and no I was not sore.

Hoping to catch up a bit.  I don’t know if it’s cheating, but reading the Plum series is helping a bit.  Haven’t had much time and life has been stressful.  Did I mention work is going to be laying off people soon?   No one knows who yet, details to be worked out, but 270 are going across the board.  In the interim, we are all on pins and needles.  All I can say is I have a job at least until August and hope for longer.

I’m at 35 movies and 20 books.

Falling behind

Falling behind with the challenge, specifically the books.  Thought I’d get several read on vacation, but needless to say, I didn’t.  Had too much fun!

Great line in a book I just finished:  “Hormones are nature’s three bottles of beer.”  Somehow, I understand this completely, especially with the hormones issues I’ve been having lately.
